My name is Barbara Sanches, I am a Brazilian artist, originally from Rio de Janeiro, currently based in Marseille.

Since I was a child, I draw and paint. However, my professional career has led me elsewhere than in the world of art. I have traveled the world searching for something that only art can properly give me: a voice.

My art expresses the journey of women to discover and conquer their intimate territories. From innocence to fear, darkness, and the healing of our intimacy, I invite people to think about how we perceive our innermost feelings. Each of my pieces represents a part of my own journey. By layering the drawings and paintings with the land drawings, I create an analogy between female bodies and real territories.
